Abel Trujillo left no doubt in his rematch with Roger Bowling tonight at UFC on Fox 9 in Sacramento, California, dominating Bowling en route to a second round TKO.
Their first bout was deemed a “no-contest” after an illegal strike from Trujillo.
This time, the “Blackzilians” battler was a minor underdog, but he dominated from the opening bell, landing hard punches and knees while showing improved footwork throughout the first round.
In the second, Trujillo, of Iowa but fighting out of Florida, brought an already-battered Bowling to the mat where he attacked with a hard knee to the body and a series of punches. Referee John McCarthy stepped in to halt the bout at 1:35 of the round.
Trujillo rises to 11-5-1. Ohio’s Bowling falls, oddly, to 11-5.
