Poor Kurt Holobaugh ended up getting a “no contest” when he fought on “Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series”, courtesy of USADA freaking out because he admitted to using an IV for re-hydration. He’s getting his official UFC shot tonight though, and his opponent is Octagon newcomer Raoni Barcelos.

Barcelos toiled in the minor leagues of Brazil before jumping to the minor leagues of the United States, but here he is, ready to bang.

Holobaugh and Barcelos throw some heat in the first round, but the Brazilian mixes things up with a takedown and some ground work. Wanting to make up those lost points, Holobaugh shoots for a takedown late and gets caught in a guillotine, but he’s saved by the bell.

Barcelos resumes his grappling assault in the second, and yet, despite his successes there, he comes out swinging in Round 3, and feeds Holobaugh so many right hands that Holobaugh ends up semi-conscious on the canvas and wondering why the referee is hugging him.

Results: Raoni Barcelos def. Kurt Holobaugh via KO (Punches) at 1:29, R3
