If you compare the female strawweight division to, say, the female flyweights or featherweights, it’s a veritable ocean of talent on the UFC’s roster. Well, UFC Fight Night 129 has got two examples of that 115-pound talent throwing down, with Brazilian Poliano Botelho taking on Japanese pro-wrestler Syuri Kondo.
Both won their UFC debuts, so… so far so good, right?
The referee says “go” and Botelho takes a few steps forward and plants her foot square on Kondo’s liver. And like magic, Kondo withers before our very eyes. The Brazilian follows her down with punches, but that’s it, it’s done.
