Five-time Octagon veteran Diego Ferreira is no dummy. He’s seen tape on UFC Fight Night 126 opponent Jared Gordon, and obviously knows Gordon is tough as nails. From an appearance on “Dana White’s Looking for a Fight” and two UFC fights, the Brazilian knows that it’s going to take something extraordinary to get Gordon to make a mistake on the feet and on the ground.
So he kicks Gordon square in the nuts. Not once, but twice.
The first time comes when the duo is trading strikes, with Gordon slinging knuckles and Ferreira firing off a low-kick right into the ball-bag. Referee Dan Miragliotta gives Ferreira a warning, and after a brief break they resume.
Which is when Ferreira nails Gordon in the sack yet again with that very same kick. Referee Miragliotta warns him more sternly this time, but the damage is done, and when they restart and re-engage, Gordon gets clipped with a cross that puts him on his butt. The American goes for the takedown on autopilot, and Ferreira responds by stepping into mount, tying up his arm, and pounding him out.
Nut shots. The great equalizer.
