Chad Mendes was one of the featherweight division’s best fighters, and had lost only to Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor.

Frankie Edgar was a former lightweight champ who couldn’t get past Aldo to snatch up the featherweight belt.

The duo met in the main event of the TUF 22 Finale, and in clear and convincing fashion, Edgar knocked Mendes into oblivion.

Seriously. Oblivion. Because that was back in 2015, and we haven’t seen Mendes since.

Of course, a USADA suspension has mucked up whatever ideas Mendes had on a return. But regardless, he was an elite fighter responsible for knocking out (or TKO’ing) the likes of Ricardo Lamas, Darren Elkins and Clay Guida.

Damn, Frankie. What did you do to this guy?

Edgar fights Brian Ortega in the co-main event of UFC 222 this weekend. Here’s hoping Edgar doesn’t send Ortega into early retirement.
