Conor McGregor, the press, and naturally, the UFC marketing team, have made much of ‘Mystic Mac’s’ ability to predict fights, but Rafael dos Anjos says the brash fighter needs to check his crystal ball.

Yes, since McGregor has backed up nearly all of his pre-fight calls in the Octagon, the hype surrounding the featherweight champ has only grown that much bigger (although, he did say he’d take out Dennis Siver in two minutes and that didn’t happen until round two). But, when McGregor recently predicted that he’ll finish RDA in less than one minute at UFC 196, a cascading ripple of ‘serious?’ went through the MMA world.

After all, we are talking about a man who has cruised through the likes of Anthony Pettis, Benson Henderson, Nate Diaz  and Donald Cerrone in recent months. The only person to defeat dos Anjos since 2011 is Khabib Nurmagomedov, who is arguably the best grappler in the sport. So, it’s not surprising that at least publicly, dos Anjos is calling nonsense on McGregor’s prediction.

Recently while appearing on “The MMA Hour”, RDA had this to say about McGregor and his prediction for March 5th (quote via Bloody

“I think I can beat this guy anywhere. If he fights a Jiu-Jitsu match, I will beat him. If I fight a Karate match, I will beat him. If I fight on K-1 rules, I’ll beat him. I’m going to break his mind standing, so he will feel himself very bad. After I hit him hard several times, maybe if I want, I’ll take him down. But I’m not going into this fight with a plan not to stand up with Conor. I’m a better fighter everywhere.”

“I will see. If I have an opportunity to finish, I will finish him. I want to hit him first a couple of times. I want him to feel my power, because he has been having such a good time in the Octagon. Everything that he is predicting has been happening, but this time, his crystal ball is a bit blurry…”

Yup. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, it’s a fascinating fight. Yes, McGregor starched Jose Aldo and no one saw that happening in 13 seconds. So, there’s no question that McGregor has the ability to lock up a second championship belt. He’s that dangerous.

But, RDA is nasty everywhere and has been called by some as the best pressure fighter in the game. So, if ‘Mystic Mac’ does finish RDA in under one minute, whoa. Then things are really going to get crazy.
