Heavyweight champ Stipe Miocic is taking on light-heavyweight champ Daniel Cormier in the main event of UFC 226, and it’s the next big superfight on tap.
The duo has just finished filming a season of TUF as opposing coaches, and now they’re making all the media rounds to drum up interest in their fight. For Miocic, that includes a sit-down on an ESPN show, and of course the topic of Conor McGregor came up.
McGregor, you’ll recall, went nuts in Brooklyn, attacked a van, and wound up in jail.
Yeah, it’s safe to say Miocic ain’t about that life. (H/t to MMAFighting).
“Yeah, I would never do that. Like, to that point. I understand that he was trying to back his boy up, but also I understand you can’t be doing that,” Miocic said. “People got hurt. I’m constant, I’m always doing the right thing, that’s the way I was raised.
“And if I did that, honestly, my mom would destroy me. My wife would kill me. Like, who do you think you are? I would never do anything like that, I would just be who I am. I would do it a different way.”
Stipe Miocic. He’s a UFC fighter, but he’s nice.
