Welcome to CagedInsider’s coverage of Zombie World Series of Fighting, I mean Professional Fight League 4, and event that is pretty much the World Series of Fighting but with a new coat of paint and a confounding tournament format reminiscent of Calvinball.
In the main event, Lance Palmer will face Jumabieke Tuerxun (who?), but the first bout of the card with a recognizable name is Steven Siler versus Alexandre Almeida, so we’ll start with that one.
You may remember Siler as the kid who washed out of TUF 14 but then put together a decent string of wins before crapping the bed and getting the boot.
God, if you know who Almeida is, you’re some kind of superfan-nerd. He fought in WSOF, and before that was a regional Brazil fighter.
The bout kicks off with Almeida setting himself before Siler, chasing him backwards with a flurry, then resetting himself again and repeating. This happens about four times before Siler clocks him with well-time right hand. The Brazilian goes down, Siler locks on an arm-in guillotine, and when Almeida rolls to his side referee Dan Miragliotta jumps in and stops it, claiming Almeida was out.

Almeida was not out.
Siler moves forward in the tournament, earning eleventy-billion points, a Ring of Protection +2 and a Get Out Of Jail Free card.
