Greetings, friends. Tonight’s menu of MMA action is the next installment of the Professional Fight League, which comes to us from Chicago, IL, and features Bellator and UFC refugee Will Brooks against the Brazilian grinder Luiz Firmino.
Yes, it’s a Thursday night fight card, so soak it up.
First on deck: UFC vet Chris Wade versus American Top Team judoka Natan Schulte.
Schulte hasn’t had a lot of exposure in North America, but Wade was a promising up-and-comer in the UFC for a spell.
They open up the bout by grappling against the cage, with both men trading takedowns. But Schulte kicks it up a notch with his judo, and starts throwing and sweeping Wade like it’s nothing.
Wade tries to make up for lost ground by spending much of Round 2 landing a ridiculous amount of punches, but those punches have little power behind them, and he ultimately tires himself out…
…And is completely spent and dominated on the ground in Round 3.
Thought Wade would make some moves in this tourney, but kinda underwhelmed in that performance….
