Beneil Dariush has never been anyone’s “easy” fight.

In 12 trips to the Octagon, he’s only ever lost to Edson Barboza, Michael Chiesa and Ramsey Nijem, and he’s beaten the likes of Jim Miller, Michael Johnson and James Vick.

So imagine the surprise when UFC newcomer Alexander Hernandez came in to UFC 222 and laid Dariush out flat in a mere 42 seconds.

Really, all there was to this fight was a few measured kicks and punches from both men, then WHAMMO! Hernandez, plucked from the regional scene for the “big show”, had put Dariush to sleep.
