Just as they are inevitably prone to doing, a pair of reality TV stars (of the YouTube variety, not even actual television) had some kind of “celebrity boxing” bout in the Internet recently, and it made a lot of money in terms of pay-per-view sales. One of the participants was Logan Paul, who, after researching him… I still have no idea who he is.

But! While awash in the glow of combat and monetary success, Paul floated the idea of fighting in the UFC. Our favorite human Pokemon Sage Northcutt took the bait, and the wheels of intrigue began turning.

Alas, this week, in the scrum following the Conor McGregor/Khabib Nurmagomedov meeting, UFC boss Dana White shot down that idea. Because really, what has Paul done in terms of combat sports? He’d get murdered.

Well, Paul has responded to White’s comments. And the YouTuber makes a very good point.

Ever since the UFC signed off on allowing CM Punk into the Octagon, they kind of lost the moral high ground in terms of screening out the scrubs.

There’s a lot of upside to letting Paul step into the Octagon. Namely, all the pay-per-view percentage points other fighters on the card might get that could be worth something.

What do you think? Would it cheapen things too much to have Logan Paul fight Northcutt? Or should the UFC just say screw it and let it happen?
