Sometimes, with all the MMA being fed down our throats nowadays, we forget the simple joys – joys like watching a pure traditional martial artist get absolutely smoked by a little grappling art known as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

The video below contains one such match. The fight occurred in 2002 at a jiu-jitsu academy in Brazil, which, when you think about it, is pretty amazing. First of all, Brazil? That’s the birthplace of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, so how can there be schmucks down there who don’t train in grappling? Secondly, 2002 is nine years into the UFC’s run – sure, matches like this were commonplace prior to 1993, but you have to be hella stupid or in serious denial if you haven’t grasped that all those Shotokan katas mean crap when you’re mounted.

Anyway, watch and enjoy. Someone possibly has their arm broken.
