Kickboxing standout Tyrone Spong won’t be getting back inside the cage anytime soon for the World Series of Fighting after suffering a nasty injury on Saturday competing at GLORY 15.

Spong, who splits time between kickboxing and MMA, threw a kick against Gokhan Saki that was checked – a very similar incident as the one that fell Anderson Silva last December against Chris Weidman.

Spong immediately hit the ground, but remained composed despite the obvious injury to his lower right leg. Saki stood over his fallen opponent and remained there to comfort him.

He was scheduled to fight in July for WSOF. We’ll continue to update Spong’s progress as news is made known.
