It was supposed to happen at UFC 209, but Khabib Nurmagomedov’s attempted weight cut put him in the hospital.
Instead, it seems that he and interim lightweight champ Tony Ferguson will meet at UFC 223.
That’s right, two of the best 155-pound fighters in the world will do their thing at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn. And when the dust settles, maybe Conor McGregor will still be considered the UFC’s true champ, or maybe he won’t (i.e., the UFC will finally strip him). At this point, we just don’t know.
What we do know is Dana White appeared on a radio show today, and the hosts pried this news tidbit out of him.
Dana White on our show confirmed that Khabib vs. Ferguson is indeed on for UFC 223 in Brooklyn. #UFC
