Both Jessica Andrade and Karolina Kowalkiewicz fought Joanna Jedrzejczyk for the belt and lost, and both have fallen to some of the best in the division. But they are far and away among the strawweight elite. They’re simply really, really good. And in the co-main event of UFC 228 they fought, and Andrade snuffed out Kowalkiewicz like an assassin in the night.

The beating was a quick two minutes, and it had all the violence and brutality of an old Wanderlei Silva fight.

Andrade came out swinging and rocked Kowalkiewicz early, and stayed on her nearly the whole time. Kowalkiewicz struggled to kick her away and make some space, and for a brief moment here and there she did, but there was no shaking out of the cobwebs with the Brazilian’s constant headhunting.

Eventually, Kowalkiewicz ate one punch too many and went down, and the ref jumping in was the only mercy shown in the fight.

Wow, was this one a crime scene.
