Welcome to CagedInsider’s coverage of Invicta FC 18, an event lacking in the really big names of women’s MMA, but featuring some good and recognizable scrappers nonetheless.

Aussie face-puncher Megan Anderson is riding a bit of a win streak coming into Invicta FC 18, while opponent Peggy Morgan couldn’t cut it in the UFC and has struggled in her Invicta appearances.

The “why” and “how” of the above becomes immediately obvious in the opening seconds of their bout, as Anderson starts unloading with right hands over and a over again, while Morgan does nothing but take it and look more and more dismayed. Morgan does secure a tie up, and when one of Anderson’s crosses drops her, she sweeps the Aussie for the briefest of moments. Unfortunately, none of it is enough to stop Anderson from brutalizing her with that right, and soon Morgan’s cheek is a swollen grapefruit and she’s tumbling to the canvas stunned.

The ref mercifully steps in, but jeez, please, no more strikers for Morgan. She’s going to die in there.
