She wasn’t quite ready for to face the best of the Octagon, but Angela Hill has certainly found a home in Invicta FC.

Taking on Alida Gray at tonight’s Invicta FC 15, Hill entered into the cage a rookie with the promotion, but a veteran of some battles against the top strawweights of the world. That level of competition has certainly burnished Hill into something far tougher than before – something very much capable of visiting devastation upon those who stand before her.

Gray foolishly decided to “stand before her”. From the outset, Hill was firing off and landing piercing right hands, and she mixed the angles and range so Gray couldn’t seek refuge in the clinch. It wasn’t long before Gray ate one punch too many and covered up against the fence, and the ensuing storm – and crushing knee to the body – was enough for Hill to drop her and get the win via TKO.

The official time of the stoppage was 1:39 of the first round, and with the win Hill has established herself as a force in the Invicta FC cage.
