Back when the UFC was still owned by Semaphore Entertainment Group and the sport was struggling to find its legs, hungry fight fans like myself wanted more than just the four or five installments of Octagon action per year availed to us. The Powers That Be heard us, so they repackaged some Pancrase bouts from Japan, and we shelled out the dough for pay-per-events of Bas Rutten, Frank Shamrock and unforgettable Japanese fighters wearing big, funky boots and slapping each other in the face while Ken Shamrock narrated.
It was lame as hell.
And it pales in comparison to the combat extravaganza in the video below.
