Once upon a time, Alexis Vila was a rising star in Bellator. He’d just knocked out Joe Warren in a little over a minute, and the Cuban Olympic wrestler had made it to the finals of one of the organization’s bantamweight tournaments.
Now he’s under arrest, a guest of the Miami-Dade County Corrections, and booked on a murder charge.
Oh how the mighty fall.
Just saw this on my Facebook timeline. Alexis Vila was arrested earlier this week (Information via Miami Dade County Corrections website) pic.twitter.com/1fo70nxdOi

There are zero details as of right now in regards to the circumstances, there’s just a booking record.
Vila was already “old” when he first got into the sport, so of course his Bellator stint transitioned into a few fights in the World Series of Fighting, and then down to the regional scene.
Now he has to deal with some serious criminal accusations and immigration entanglements.
