The ghosts of the long-dead PRIDE FC have returned to haunt us.

Apparently, whatever non-compete clause that was enacted when the UFC bought PRIDE has expired, because the key players in the defunct organization are back and ready to throw us a fight circus. As per Asia-based reporter James Goyder, who was at the press conference for the new promotion in Tokyo, Japan, today:

Although it was rumored that Fedor Emelianenko would be fighting the unknown Jaideep Singh, no mention was made of that – which has lead some to speculate that maybe they’re still looking for an opponent for the legendary Russian.

Man, I hope so. Please don’t waste Fedor on a nobody.
