Welcome to CagedInsider’s coverage of UFC Fight Night 128, which, like a salty boardwalk prostitute missing most of her teeth, comes to us from sunny Atlantic City, N.J. The main event will see an overweight Kevin Lee (yes, he missed weight) take on a svelte Edson Barboza, while the co-main has a concussed Frankie Edgar rematching with Cub Swanson and risking brain cells.

First up: Corey Anderson versus Patrick Cummins.

You may recall Cummins as the coffee shop barista who stepped in on ridiculously short notice so poor Daniel Cormier could have a fight. Since then, Cummins has been a fan-favorite known for taking a beating and displaying ungodly amounts of grit.

Anderson is a talented dude who gets smoked whenever he fights against the elite.

They open up with Cummins reaching for takedowns, and Anderson stuffing them while out-boxing the bejeezus out of him. By the end of the first round, Cummins is already bloody – and to add insult to injury, Anderson is taking him down over and over again.

Rounds 2 and 3 are more of the same, with Anderson’s takedowns turning into long stretches of wrestling domination and back-control. The clock ticks down to zero and Cummins has done absolutely nothing but struggle to survive. Did he know he was fighting tonight? Maybe he forgot to train for this?
