It pains me to say this, but I fear for Fedor Emelianenko‘s health.

The once-great heavyweight – perhaps the greatest heavyweight in the world – is a mere shadow of his old self, and he’s going to be taking on a former UFC champ in Frank Mir at Bellator 198 this weekend.

You can argue that Mir himself is old, too. So old, in fact, that he left the comforting eight-sides of the Octagon to join Bellator’s League of Extraordinarily Old Gentlemen, and what’s he going to be able to do to Fedor with those less-than-explosive jiu-jitsu moves and cracked chin?

Sadly, if the Russian’s fight against Matt Mitrione is of any indication, Mir can do a lot. Fedor lasted barely more than a minute against Mitrione – Mitrione! Who’s run in the UFC was nothing compared to Mir’s!

Bellator’s heavyweight tournament churns on, and with it all these fights that bring back these legends who should’ve retired long ago. I would love to see Fedor score a win simply because he’s Fedor, but I just don’t see it happening.

Anyway, here’s the next Countdown vid hyping the Fedor vs. Mir fight.
