Back when the WEC was absorbed by the UFC, Carlos Condit was the man. But time does a number on everyone, and nowadays Condit is just another aged fighter hoping for a win.

Fellow “old man” Matt Brown was supposed to do the dance with Condit in the co-main event of UFC on FOX 29 tonight, but Brown fell by the wayside with an injury, so Brazilian striker Alex Oliveira stepped in to take his place. Can Condit recapture some of that faded glory?

They open up the bought scrapping hard, with Oliveira quicker and more mobile on the feet. But he changes things up by nailing a takedown, and when he fails to get anything going from top position, Condit reverses him and goes to work. Soon Oliveira is fending off a rear naked choke, and the Brazilian has to be saved by the bell.

The scrap continues into the second, with Oliveira brings thing to the canvas and opening up a nasty cut on Condit’s head that drenches them both in blood. But Condit keeps on fighting, and when Oliveira traps his neck in a tight guillotine, the former WEC champ keeps fighting still… until he can fight no more, and must tap out.

Carlos Condit is old, folks.
