Given that the boxing match between superstar boxer Floyd Mayweather and superstar UFC champ Conor McGregor did monster business and made everyone even more fabulously wealthy, it seems like a given that a rematch – either in the ring or the cage – would be inevitable.
In fact, the duo have been trading barbs on social media back and forth like two wild animals performing a mating ritual.
But, business is business, and apparently Mayweather is no longer in the rematch business.
This is according to McGregor, who posted something along those lines to his Instagram.
Could it be…? Will we never see Mayweather in the a cage, getting choked unconscious by our favorite Irishman?
I am happy for Floyd and his recent announcement that he is out of these current fight negotiations. It is the reason I never seeked the rematch in the first place. I was happy for him in retirement. My game is a very unforgiving one. It is not like other games. I understand completely him staying retired. I will now carry on in my negotiations and see where it goes. Have a great retirement Junior. Now come here and give your old man a hug for old times sake. I’m proud of you son. Yours truly, Senior.
