Will Brooks was not at the Bellator 131 post-fight press conference to discuss his championship-winning performance over Michael Chandler.

Brooks, who earned a fourth round TKO victory, cleared up on Twitter where he was, as a rib injury forced him to the hospital for an X-ray.

“I popped my rib in the first round, and I’m getting X-rays,” Brooks posted. “One of the worse feelings in the world is fighting with a rib moving. Got X-rays turns out I fractured my upper left rib in the 1st rnd.”

Brooks earned his second victory over Chandler, as he won the interim title earlier this year with a split decision victory. The loss was the first stoppage defeat Chandler has suffered in his career.
