It’s been a long and winding journey for Gegard Mousasi.

He first popped up on our radar back in the DREAM days, when the Japanese MMA scene was a thing. Then he migrated to Strikeforce, kicked all sorts of butt, and eventually found his way into the UFC. He smashed a lot of people there, too, but he never quite found the traction he deserved, so the Armenian striker will be doing his thing in Bellator next.

That seems like a fitting home for him, what with the Strikeforce-Bellator-Scott Coker connection. He’s sure to get the kind of fights that earn him more highlight reel knockouts. In fact, his Bellator 185 opponent will be Alexander Shlemenko – a dude who will stand and trade for sure.
