As you likely know by now, Bellator’s initial dive into the pay-per-view market will not happen on November 2nd  as planned, as Tito Ortiz has injured his neck while training and will no longer compete. While the entire card will now be broadcast on SPIKE (which is the good news for fans in an unfortunate situation), it will no longer feature Cheick Kongo fighting Vinicius Queiroz in the heavyweight tourney final either.

Recently Kongo relayed that he been scratched from the card by tweeting:

“now that the PPV is cancelled, my fight is moved to Bellator 107, Nov 8, Thackerville and will be the MAIN EVENT.”

In another report from MMA, Queiroz revealed that he’s injured his knee and as a result, he will no longer compete at Bellator 106. It still remains to be seen who Kongo will fight on November 8th, however, as Bellator has not made any official announcement regarding the situation. The promotion has released the updated card for Bellator 106, which will go down at the Long Beach Convention Center. The Kongo-Queiroz bout is no longer on it as expected.

So, despite the fact the event has a lost a couple of big name bouts, it is still stacked with some great fights. In the main event, Eddie Alvarez will look to avenge his 2011 loss to lightweight champ Michael Chandler, which was one of the year’s best tilts.

Bellator has also announced that  it will be hosting open workouts, Thursday, October 31st at the Long Beach Arena (300 E. Ocean Blvd, Long Beach, CA). The event is free and open to the public and will feature Michael Chandler, Eddie Alvarez, “King Mo”, Emanuel Newton, Pat Curran and Daniel Straus. It gets under way at 12PM PST.

Oh, and speaking of Bellator, Cage Potato has a photo set up for the promotion’s new ring girl Courtney Prather, who will make her debut this Saturday.

Here is the updated line-up for Bellator 106.
