Bellator’s fall season will feature another fighter who’s familiar to UFC fans, as the promotion has reportedly signed 30 year-old featherweight Diego “The Gun” Nunes. The news comes less than a week after the Viacom property announced that it has signed former UFC light-heavyweight champ “Rampage” Jackson.

The Nunes-Bellator agreement was reported first by the Brazilian website Ataque Total and in a follow up report from MMA, the outlet confirmed with sources close to the promotion that “The Gun” is headed to Bellator.

While the Nunes signing won’t likely draw as much attention and discussion as Bellator’s acquisition of “Rampage” did, it’s a solid pick up for the promotion. Although Nunes is 2-2 in his last four outings, his defeats have come against solid opposition in Nik Lentz and Dennis Siver. His only other recent loss came in June, 2011, when Nunes lost by UD to former contender Kenny Florian.

During his run with the WEC and UFC, Nunes (18-4) recorded notable wins over men like Mike Brown, Raphael Assuncao, Manny Gamburyan and Bart Palaszewski.

Bellator hasn’t made any announcement regarding the reported signing. There’s also no word yet whether the rugged Brazilian vet will make his Bellator debut in one of the promotion’s tournaments, although you would think that’s the plan here, considering his resume.

(Update: Nunes has also confirmed the signing via Twitter)
