Well, that happened.
Last night, Bellator 199 saw TUF winner and UFC refugee Ryan Bader take on former Strikeforce champ Muhammad “King Mo” Lawal in another installment of the heavyweight grand prix. The bout was expected to be a protracted battle, because, you know, these guys are experienced and accomplished veterans.
But nope. Bader needed just 15 seconds to throw them hands and send King Mo tumbling to the canvas. Which is surprising, because besides being a strong wrestler, King Mo has decent boxing.
Bader will now move on to the next round of the tournament, while King Mo gets tossed back into “gen pop” with the rest of the criminals.
Elsewhere on the card, Jon Fitch – the human blanket who can’t finish fights – returned to action to cuddle Brit striker Paul Daley to death.
Wrestling stud Aaron Pico notched another win via body blow, taking out Lee Morrison.
And Cheick Kongo, the big, tall French heavyweight and former UFC fighter, knocked out Javy Ayala.
