Retired UFC legend Matt Hughes was talking about a possible comeback fight recently, which is sad on more than a few levels, but that talk has inevitably caused one of his past opponents to postulate on the possibility of a pugilistic redux.
Royce Gracie says he’s down to run it back again with Hughes. If you’ll recall, the MMA pioneer took on Hughes when the farmboy was at the height of his ability, and the Brazilian got smoked. But I guess both guys need money, so here we are.
As per MMAFighting:
Royce Gracie is down to fight Matt Hughes a second time.
Hughes, a former UFC welterweight champion, retired from the sport after losing to Josh Koscheck in 2011, but recently said he’s interested in fighting one more time. MMA Fighting has learned that Hughes approached Bellator with the idea of facing Gracie, and the Brazilian legend welcomes the idea.
“Man, that would be great,” Gracie told MMA Fighting. “That would be great. Everybody wants to see this second fight.”
No we don’t, Royce. No we don’t.
