Bellator MMA returned to Iowa Friday night for the second time in 2014 with Bellator 129.
A pair of natives to the state collided in the main event, as Paul Bradley picked up the decision over Josh Neer. Bradley, a former standout wrestler at the University of Iowa, improved to 22-6 by using his ground skills to control the action. Neer, a former UFC fighter making his debut with Bellator, fell to 34-14-1 with the loss.
The co-main event featured veterans Houston Alexander and Virgil Zwicker competing at a catchweight after Zwicker replaced James Thompson. The bout was declared a majority draw after Alexander was docked a point for a second illegal headbutt.
Joe Vedepo kicked off the Spike TV main card with a third round TKO finish, stopping Davin Clark. Andre Santos and James Terry went to the scorecards, with Santos coming out on top.
In early prelim action, John DeVall, Eric Howser and Michael McBride each earned submission victories, while Martin Trey Brown knocked out Bryan Corley in the second round.
McBride was making his debut with Bellator after claiming the Midwest Cage Championship title recently.
