Prior to the UFC’s UK show yesterday, which saw a hometown hero get the home-cooked decision, fight fans across the pond got an installment of Bellator. Bellator 200 gave them lots of sudden and brutal violence – Phil Davis kicked Linton Vassell’s soul out of his head, while Michael Page hit David Rickels so hard Rickels quit.

But the Bellator 200 main event was all about the sport’s premiere wayward warrior Gegard Mousasi, whose travels have taken him from DREAM in Japan to Strikeforce to the UFC, and finally to the Bellator cage. There, he challenged Rafael Carvalho – the organization’s somewhat dominant middleweight champ – and, well, let’s just say Mousasi has another belt to add to his collection.

For whatever reason, the UFC refused to push him, despite Mousasi defeating the likes of Uriah Hall, Vitor Belfort, Chris Weidman and Dan Henderson. C’est la vie.

Now the dude can ride off into the sunset as a champ, crushing challengers like he’s supposed to.

Here are highlights from the Mousasi/Carvalho fight.
