Bellator MMA’s Dynamite event in San Jose raised eyebrows when it was revealed the show will feature both a cage and a ring, to showcase both MMA and kickboxing bouts.

The MMA side of the event will feature Tito Ortiz vs. Liam McGeary for the promotion’s light heavyweight title in its main event.

It was revealed today the show, which is co-promoted by Glory, as expected, will also crown a light heavyweight champion in the world of kickboxing.

In the co-main event, Zack “The Black Warrior” Mwekassa (13-2, 12 KO) of Congo will face Brazilian knockout artist Saulo “Cassius Clay” Cavalari (31-2, 19 KO) for the Glory 185 lb. title.

Glory’s previous champion, Gokhan Saki, vacated the title — as he put it, due to a contract dispute.

Mwekassa and Cavalari fought once previously, with Cavalari earning the win with a spectacular third round head kick knockout.

The event will also feature another throwback: a one-night MMA tournament. The tourney will be the Bellator debut of former UFC contender Phil Davis (13-3). It will also feature Emanuel Newton (25-8-1), Linton Vassell (15-4-1) and former Strikeforce champion Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal (15-4, 1 NC).

The tournament is said to determine the division’s number one contender.
