Great news for fight fans as Bellator Promotions has just announced that they inked a three-year deal with Viacom owned MTV2 starting in 2011. The organizations format will stay the same, but now with live events instead of pre-recorded showings as we received with FSN in the past.
Many will point out the oddity of the pair as MTV does stand for Music Television, but the guys over at MTV2 like Eric Conte know that it’s what their audience wants.
“MMA is at the top of our audience’s wish list, and partnering with Bellator to bring live events and specials to MTV2 made complete sense since our viewers are so hungry to see more MMA on-air,” Conte said.
A staggering new level of exposure is probable now with MTV2 in 77 million households blowing away their former contract deal with ESPN Deportes. Bjorn Rebney you have made our Christmas.
