Bellator’s featherweight belt changed hands last night as Joe Warren (6-1) caught a dazzed Joe Soto (9-1) with a clean knee that rocked Soto’s world, leaving a chance to follow up with a few short punches to finish the fight.

Warren came in to the fight as the underdog, with all his Bellator wins coming by way of decision. Warren used his greco-roman wrestling to smother his opponents. Warren on the other hand was becoming known for his submission and striking finishes. Last night it looked to be a roll reversal as Warren gives his first KO in his first championship fight.

Warren is expected to compete in a non-title fight for Dream.16, Sept. 25 against the tough Michihiro Omigawa.
