Josh Koscheck’s Bellator debut could have probably gone better.

Taking on journeyman Mauricio Alonso, the TUF 1 vet for some reason thought it based to eschew his once-great wrestling and seek his fortunes with his boxing skills – which were never that great to begin with, and with Alonso taller and with a greater reach, well…

Look, we all saw this coming. People like Koscheck, who have names from fighting in the UFC for so long, retire from the Octagon for a reason. And that reason is they’ve significantly declined. Maybe Bellator boss Scott Coker got a good deal when he scooped up Koscheck’s contract, maybe he didn’t, but now he’s stuck with a fighter who’s going to get clobbered every he fights someone with a pulse.
