Dave Rickels has way more personality than ability – which isn’t to say he sucks, because he doesn’t. It’s just that he’s gotten such a push from Bellator (a freakin’ dinosaur has walked “the Caveman” to the cage!), and he’s never managed to get gold. Oh well. Tonight he faces Bobby Cooper.

Round 1 is all about Rickels and Cooper standing in front of each other and testing their chins. It takes about a minute for Rickels to realize he needs to mix in some wrestling and dirty boxing lest he go to sleep, so he does. With about a minute and a half left in the round Rickels lands a knee square on Cooper’s dome, and Cooper drops and turtles, and can do nothing but eat punch after punch. Soon referee John McCarthy is jumping in, and Rickels has earned his 11th win in the Bellator cage.

Result: Dave Rickels def. Bobby Cooper via TKO (Punches) at 3:49, R1
