Perhaps one of the most heartwarming storylines in all of MMA is the one about the aging fighter who rides out his career in style, racking up wins on the national stage while not facing competition that’s too stiff.

Josh Thomson, the former UFC-turned Strikeforce-turned UFC-turned Bellator star, is one such fighter. Last night he headlined Bellator 147, and though he faced a no-name, he kicked ass on TV – which is all that matters.

Here he is kicking ass:

Patricky “Pitbull” Friere isn’t an aging veteran like Thomson, but he was on the Bellator 147 card as well, and was looking to get back on track for a shot at the title. He fought hard against Derek Anderson, and definitely did enough to earn the decision… too bad the judges saw otherwise.
