Not long after it was revealed that Cheick Kongo will no longer fight Vinicius Queiroz at Bellator 106 as  scheduled, the promotion has announced the UFC vet will battle Peter Graham on November 8th. The heavyweight tourney final will headline Bellator 107, which will go down at the Winstar Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma. The change became necessary after Queiroz injured his knee during training.

Kongo earned a spot in the heavyweight finals earlier this month, by putting Mark Godbeer away with strikes at Bellator 102. Graham, meanwhile, is coming off a unanimous decision win over Eric Prindle at Bellator 104, in what was classified as a tournament qualifier.

“I want to fight the best in Bellator so I can be the best,” Kongo was quoted saying in a press release from the promotion. “When I try to do things as a competitor, I want to be the best. I messed up before because I wasn’t focused like I’ve been from the beginning. But, now … I will be the best. It’s my time. I came to Bellator for the opportunity to show the best Cheick Kongo. And that’s it.”

Although it would have been cool to see Kongo battle Queiroz, who blasted UFC vet Lavar Johnson in the semifinals, Kongo-Graham also has promise (the latter is an experienced kickboxer).

Bellator 107 will also feature the featherweight tourney finals between Joe Warren and Travis Marx, as well as the middleweight final featuring Brennan Ward versus Mikkel Parlo.
