UFC on FOX 8 will feature a bout between two of the promotion’s more experienced lightweights, as Yves Edwards and Spencer Fisher have reportedly agreed to fight at the July 27th card.
Edwards will be looking to rebound from the tightly contested, split decision loss he suffered versus Isaac Vallie-Flagg in February. Prior to that, Edwards produced violent, highlight reel footage by knocking out Jeremy Stephens at UFC on FOX 5 in December.
The bout with Fisher will be the 63rd fight of the 36 year-old vet’s career. Unbelievable.
Fisher, meanwhile, has dropped consecutive bouts to Ross Pearson, Thiago Tavares and Sam Stout. The 36 year-old’s last win took place in October, 2010, when he scored a unanimous decision win over Curt Warburton.
The bout, which was initially reported by MMA Junkie, is the last addition to a card that has yet to have a main event confirmed. Some of the fights that have been announced include Rory MacDonald vs. Jake Ellenberger, Robbie Lawler vs. Tarec Saffiedine and Melvin Guillard vs. Mac Danzig.
UFC on FOX 8 will be hosted by Seattle’s Key Arena.
