The co-main event of last night’s UFC Fight Night 85 had Neil Magny taking on Hector Lombard, and the fight was the epitome of a seesaw battle.
In the first round, Lombard dropped Magny with his heavy hands, and very nearly pounded him out on the ground. If not for Magny’s constant movement and attempts to defend himself, surely a stoppage would’ve come.
Or maybe not. Because in the second round, Magny secured an ultra-dominant back-mount on Lombard, and after flattening the Cuban judoka out, he unloaded with over 40 unanswered punches to a defenseless Lombard. Did referee Steve Percival stop it? Nope.
Houston, we have a problem. Take it away, Brian Stann…
