World Extreme Cagefighting will be airing it’s first ever event on pay-per-view at WEC 48 on April 24th. The headlining bout will be a featherweight championship bout between Jose Aldo and Urijah Faber.
A deal with pay-per-view has been in the works for awhile, but WEC didn’t want to sell a PPV until they felt they had enough “compelling fights.”
“We wanted to wait until we had this type of card to go to pay-per-view,” Reed Harris (General Manager of WEC) told the APNewsBreak. “We didn’t want to do a pay-per-view show until fans would say at the end of the night, ‘This was worth it.’ This will truly be the biggest event we’ve ever done.”
The event will be sold on PPV for $44.99
