WEC 50: Cruz vs Benavidez 2 from the Palms in Las Vegas, NV has came to an end. With the smoke clearing , the WEC has announced its bonuses for the night.
Each fighter received a nice $10,000 on top of their contracted salary. This may look meek though when compared to the WEC 48: Aldo vs. Faber bonuses, which passed out a whopping $65,000 for each bonus given to a fighter that night.
Undefeated lightweight, Maciej Jewtuszko made his WEC debut a great one, earning “Knockout of the Night” by dropping Anthony Njokuani in the first round. Including last night, “Irokez” has finished all eight of his opponents.
Anthony Pettis was able to pull off submission of the night against Shane Roller with a late triangle in the last seconds of round three. Proof that Pettis is indeed ready for his title shot against current WEC lightweight champ, Ben Henderson.
