Top WEC fighter Urijah Faber was scheduled to fight Takeya Mizugaki at WEC 50 on August 18th. It has now been reported by MMAFighting.com and Faber himself via Twitter, that he will longer be able to fight, due to an injury received in training.
Faber tweeted earlier today ; “Been quit (sic) the last few days, i was injured in pract on Mon. Just got results Im Out on Aug 18th. Not 2 happy.”
This fight was especially important to Faber, as it was his debut into bantamweight after several years spent in the featherweight class. He was a longstanding titleholder for the featherweight belt, defending it five times before finally losing it to Mike Brown at WEC 36.
