TUF 12 runner-up Michael Johnson was on the cusp of being a forgotten footnote in the annals of cagefighting history when something happened. Maybe he turned a mental corner, maybe some heretofore unknown switch inside of him was flicked into the “on” position – who knows? But something happened, and now he’s the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 37, taking on Melvin Guillard in a bout that, if the performances in his last two bouts are of any indication, Johnson could very well win. That’s crazy!
Johnson is the guy who lost to Jonathan Brookins at the TUF 12 Finale, then went on to rack up losses to the likes of Paul Sass, Myles Jury and Reza Madadi (who, who and who?). And now all of a sudden he’s clobbered Joe Lauzon and Gleison Tibau, and Guillard might be next? Man, talk about a course correction.
Anyway, here’s the video of Johnson taking on Tibau at UFC 168. Enjoy.
