WEC never dies. Relive the final WEC bout between Benson Henderson and Anthony Pettis. The bout would bring us the birth of “the Showtime kick,” which clenched the fight for Pettis and posterized the current champ for highlight reels to come. There is no doubt, as Henderson admits, he wants to “get the stain off his soul.”
In the co-main we have a heavyweight bout between two of the most dangerous submission specialist on the ground. The former (vacating) UFC champ Josh Barnett and fellow former champ Frank Mir are set to go to war. Mir, known for his violent submission finishes gets a chance to challenge his game against a professional catch wrestler in Barnett.
And of course, don’t forget the featherweights. Clay “The Carpenter” Guida returning against Chad “Money” Mendes. “Money” will be looking to make his fourth straight victory to clinch a title shot, while Guida looks to string together a second win after defeating Hatsu Hioki in January.
