Watch Dave Bautista’s first MMA fight here (Video)
Former WWE superstar Dave Bautista has officially completed his first MMA fight at the age of 43. Originally expected to fight Rashid Evans at CES MMA in Providence, Rhode Island, Evans was arrested, leaving the organization to replace Bautista’s opponent with Vince Lucerno. The hefty heavyweight Lucerno weighed in over 300 pounds and despite having a dismal 22-22 record, he is also over the 40 year range – making an even match-up for the debut fight of the former pro wrestler.
Bautista like other WWE stars making the transition used ground and pound to earn the first victory in only 4 minutes and 5 seconds of the first. Check out the host UFC vet. Joe Lauzon as he interviews Bautista after the win.

sloppy at start, nice takedown and good ground game
He won that’s all that matters
standup is trashy.. but u have to give the guy some credit. he’s 43 yet want to challenge himself in the real fighting world.
Total Bullshit
He fought a fat out of shape wash up and barely got the win lol
Not impressed….
lame
not impressive.
fights a guy who is 22 an 22 an gets his ass kicked but barely wins, he isnt moving up ever, worst kicks known to man, keeps chin exposed all the time, hands to low, horrible
His performance was horrible. But a wins a win.
He was terrible. Absolutely dreadful, even. Just go back to WWE and do what you do best. Please, I miss The Animal.
batista go home
ala GSP “I was not imbressed wiv his buhformance”
he sucked.
very impressive
this is a joke…
Better than I expected and I do give him props for trying it out at 43!
underwhelming.
He wins by having the fight stopped after punching the back of the guys head over and over again…I would have been mad too!
Brutal, embarrassing. Imagine if you bought this as a PPV main event.
i can do better
His performance was awful, sloppy and is irrelevant because he has no career in mma
You can tell his nervs got the best of him at the beginning, but once he got more comfortable he took it to the ground and did awesome, he just needs to let his hands go, he could have knocked the guy out if he did. Great start but needs to work on his boxing.
Bautista is a bad ass.
Needs a lot of work but hey a win is a win
Shit shit shit
Pathetic, he even talked trash? Good to know that I literally have a legit chance at beating Dave in a ring. lol
It makes me laugh when people say “that was terrible” and “I can do better.” If you really think so, grab some gloves and step into the cage.
