With all the debate and attention Vitor Belfort’s testosterone-replacement-therapy has been receiving in recent weeks, the fact he’s about to take on former Strikeforce champ Luke Rockhold has been lost in the mix somewhat. Yes, that’s right, Belfort is going to fight Rockhold this Saturday at UFC on FX 8, and if you have anything else planned but watching it, you need to get your priorities straight.
Now as far as Belfort’s TRT, Rockhold has already let the world know that he’s not a fan, since in particular, the Brazilian middleweight has not been cleared in the state of Nevada for the treatments. So, not only has Belfort had to deal the objections of his opponent and plenty of fans, recently UFC President Dana White announced he’s also against the controversial practice.
So, does Belfort mind that his TRT has been revealed? Not long after he scored one of his biggest wins in recent years, by stopping Michael Bisping this past January? Apparently not. Belfort recently told MMA Fighting:
“It’s no problem. I think they should release [the name] of everyone that’s on it. For me, it’s no problem. I’m not doing anything illegal, so I’m not ashamed of anything.”
Win or lose Saturday–although probably more so if he wins–Belfort will likely still be fielding questions about TRT for the coming months. Oh, and that fight? It takes place in Jaragua do Sul, Brazil, May 18th.
