Vitor Belfort puts out Luke Rockhold in Brazil – Recap

The old Lion does it again. Vitor Belfort (23-10) once again looks reprized as he gets his hands on Luke Rockhold (10-2) and puts him out in front of his roaring home country of Brazil.

Both men started off tentative, but as the action sped up, Belfort clips the former Strikeforce champ with a (newly added) spinning heel-kick dropping him and follows up with viscous bombs to the chin of Rockhold. Add the AKA standout to Belfort’s long highlight reel.

Official: Vitor Belfort defeats Luke Rockhold via knockout (spinning heel kick & Punches) – Round 1 2:32

Belfort may have recently lost a late replacement fight against Jon Jones, but he also proved to be the biggest challenge to the dominant light heavyweight champ. He returns to middleweight, taking out two top contenders in Michael Bisping and Luke Rockhold. Belfort may be ranked number two and be calling for a title shot, but it will likely come down to whether or not fans want to see Belfort in another title shot.
