There’s been a lot of cool things on previous episodes of Dana White’s ‘Lookin’ for a Fight’ series, with the UFC boss trekking all over the United States with Matt Serra and Din Thomas to try wacky things, eat regional food and scout local fighters. But this episode – which temporarily has Thomas switched out for Gian Villante – probably has the coolest thing of all: an NYPD ride-along in Brooklyn.
In case you don’t know, a ride-along is when a civilian arranges to go out on calls with a patrol car. Yes, this is something the New York City Police Department does, and yes, it is sometimes dangerous, as the civilian is literally going on 911 calls to active crime scenes. But it is so freakin’ cool.
For White, Serra and Villante, that means they get to take part in a high-speed chase. They also stop by the Marcy Houses, which is the projects where Jay-Z came from, and when they pass by some dude on the sidewalk wrapping his hands for a boxing workout, they pull over and chill with him.
There are laughs in this episode, and of course some fights, but the ride-along won me over. Watch and enjoy.
